2019 Western Illinois Softball Camp: Pitching/Catching & Offense/Defense Session 3

Description

The 2019 Western Illinois softball camp offers instructional sessions to girls in the 7th grade or older on the campus of Western Illinois University on January 19, 2019. The high school softball clinic offers two sessions: one three-hour pitching/catching session and one four-hour offensive/defensive session.

 

The offensive session will cover the fundamentals of hitting or slapping, bunting, base running, sliding, etc.

 

The defensive session will cover throwing, fielding technique, positional work. etc. (No pitchers or catchers for this session unless they are training at a different position) The pitching session will cover proper warm up protocol, pitch development, working with catchers and tips on the mental aspect of pitching. Catching sessions will cover framing, blocking, throwing technique, base work and working with pitchers.

 

The same sessions are offered on all days. Space is limited. Please respond ASAP if you are interested.

 

Lunch will be provided for all campers enrolled in both sessions and is included in the price. T-shirts are also included.

 

Camp Fees:
Hitting/Defense $100.00 per person
Pitching/Catching $75.00 per person
Both sessions $165.00 per person
Walk-ins will be charged an additional $10.00 per session.

Registrations after January 6th will increase by $10.00 per session and players will not be guaranteed the correct size t-shirt.

Pitching/Catching Session

Register at 8:30am

9:00am-12:00pm

Lunch 12:00pm-1:00pm

 

Offense/Defense Session

Register at 12:30pm

1:00pm-5:00pm

 

What To Bring:

Proper Clothing (T-shirts, shorts or sweatpants and tennis shoes). Softball gear (labeled bat, helmet, glove, catching gear, sliding pants and batting gloves)

Western Illinois University's athletic camps & clinics are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender.

 

Waiver Information

If a parent will not be attending with the camper, please see the waiver form and have your child bring it with the day of camp. Directions

 

Brophy Hall

Brophy is located on the north end of the Western Illinois campus, adjacent to Western Hall. Parking is available in the lot between John MacKenzie Alumni Field and Brophy Hall.

 

From the South: Follow U.S. 67 North through town, turn left onto University Dr. and drive approximately a half mile and Brophy Hall will be located on the right.

 

From the North: Follow U.S. 67 South and turn right onto University Dr. shortly after entering town. Drive approximately a half mile and Brophy will be on the right.

 

From the East/West: Follow U.S. 136 into town and turn onto U.S. 67 North through town, turn left onto University Dr. Drive approximately a half mile and Brophy Hall will be located on the right.

 

Parking is available in the lot between John MacKenzie Alumni Field and Brophy Hall.

 

Meals

Miscellaneous Information

Refund Policy

A written request for refunds must be sent to the Western Illinois coaching staff by Jan. 6, 2019.
A 50 percent non-refundable fee will be applied to every cancellation.
NO REFUNDS after Jan. 6, 2019.
