Camp Description

Learn from the PITT softball program this Fall!

We will teach all of the skills, strategies and drills to help each player reach her defensive softball goals for all positions on the field.

This clinic will allow participants to learn what it takes to be an defensive threat on the softball field.

The PITT coaching staff will be on hand to instruct various drills and techniques for athletes of all levels.

General Information

Skills to be covered:
* Basic throwing mechanics
* Proper fundamental to field ground balls, covering bases and bunt defense
* Specific form for fielding fly balls and ground balls in the outfield.
* Gain insight on the purpose and strategy of each pitch with ands-on instruction
* Catching techniques including throwing runners out , framing, and blocking
* Learn techniques and different grips that are used to perfect pitches such as: fastball, drop, curve, rise, and change-up

Equipment to bring:
Each player must bring her own softball equipment. Players should bring a glove, tennis shoes, cleats, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.

Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication

Camp Check-in

Clinic Check-In and warm up will take place at 12:00pm at the Charles L. Cost Center.

Directions

The clinic will be held at the Charles L. Cost Center- the indoor facility for the University of Pittsburgh Softball team. This building is located on Pitt's Upper Campus, next to Trees Hall and across from the Peterson Events Center.

Parking Information

Parking is available in the OC Parking lot. Many times there is a fee for parking.

Miscellaneous Information

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on cancelled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection".
We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our national locations.
Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.
