Camp Description


Welcome to Revolution Softball Camp at Randolph Macon College.

Our camps are designed for athletes to learn, develop, and enhance their skills in all phases of softball.

We provide the opportunity to become better softball players by hiring some of the best coaches and players in the sport today. Our staff is eager to help you improve and develop into the best player possible!

General Information


Drills and Skills.....

Batting: Will work on batting stance, hit and runs, bunting, pull hitting, opposite field hitting, and hitting for power

Fielding: Will focus on groundballs, pop-fly's, relay throws, fly-balls, pickles, and turning double plays

Pitching: Will work on communication between catcher and pitcher, types of pitches, pitching motions, and release points.

Base-running: Will practice hit and runs, stealing, tagging up, and pickles.

Overnight Campers: $475.00 • Includes softball training, team bonding, housing, meals, and activities.
Extended Day Campers: $375.00 • Includes softball training, team bonding, lunch, dinner, and activities.
Day Campers: $295.00 • Includes softball training and lunch.

Kevin Proffitt
Coach Kevin Proffitt is a 1986 graduate of Randolph-Macon College and just completed his 12th year as Head Coach of the R-MC Softball Program.
He was recognized as the 2007 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Coach Of The Year. Proffitt was also named the recipient of the Randolph-Macon College Athletic Department's Hugh Stephens Coach of the Year Award in the spring of 2012 and 2013!
Under the leadership of Proffitt, Randolph-Macon's softball program continues to grow and improve on a regional and national level having defeated multiple teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation in Division III.
In 2013, R-MC set program records for most wins in a season as well as in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with a 34-9 overall record and 15-5 finish in the conference...the softball program also received it's first ever national ranking when it entered the National Fastpitch Coach's Alliance Top 25 poll at # 22 in the country. R-MC also finished the 2013 campaign ranked #8 in the Atlantic Region.
In 2014, the Yellow Jackets' success continued as they received votes in the NFCA Top 25 poll and again finished the year ranked #8 in the Atlantic Region. They advanced to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game for the first time in program history!!!!

Other staff members will include assistant coaches, talented local high school coaches, and college players.

Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

A camp credit is issued to any camper who must cancel prior to camp. The credit will be in the amount paid by the camper. Any cancellation within 5 days of the start of camp will result in a camp credit minus $100 cancellation fee. The credit is transferrable to another family member and is good through the following camp season. Cash refunds are not offered.

Camp Check-in


Check in is from 12:00pm-1:00pm on the first day and Check out on the last day is 12:00pm *Times may vary depending on the location.

Please fill out all health forms have your physician sign them and bring them into the first day of camp.

Located just outside of Richmond, VA, Randolph-Macon College is a beautiful location with multiple fields for our camps use.

Overnight campers at the Revolution Softball Camp will sleep on campus in dormitories. The staff lives in the dorms and chaperones all the off field/evening activities to provide supervision.
