'Tis the season to polish up your hitting, fielding, pitching & catching skills!
Embry-Riddle Softball completed it's third season of the program. The team is headed by Coach Marie Thomason. Coach Thomason has coached at all levels including club, high school, little league and NCAA. Embry-Riddle softball players will assist her in directing the camp, striving to use personal playing experience as a unique learning tool for young athletes. This camp will is a part of setting a tradition of a healthy learning environment for softball athletes.

Catelyn Whaley, The Pitchin Hole proprietor, has been giving pitching lessons for 9 years. She began pitching when she was 11 years old. She carried her high school team to victory in three state championships averaging over 10 strikeouts a game by throwing fastball, knuckle ball, drop ball, screw ball, curveball, and her favorite, the rise ball. Catelyn then went on to play college ball for Division 1 Longwood University. In December 2008, she began giving pitching lessons. In 2014 she opened The Pitchin Hole where she does around 100 lessons a month and continues to carry a lengthy waiting list.
Kelsey Lewis has been giving catching and hitting lessons for 7 years. Kelsey spent her softball days behind the plate for Christopher Newport University. She works her students hard and gets the most out of them!
Marie Thomason, Head Coach of Embry Riddle University in AZ is in her fifth year of the inaugural program. Formerly, Assistant Coach at Dartmouth College, Norfolk State and VA Wesleyan. She is also a hitting, fielding and catching instructor and owns Elite MT Athletics, LLC in AZ. Outside of her softball coaching career, she is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the NSCA. ?
Jeff Frizell, currently an Assistant Coach at Montreat College in NC. Formerly, Head Softball Coach at Spartanburg Methodist College. Coach Frizzell comes to SMC from Yavapai after serving as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for two seasons, helping the program to a fourth place finish at the Juco Softball World Series in 2016 (50-17). During Coach Frizzell's time at College of the Siskiyous, before moving into the coaching position at Yavapai College, Coach Frizzell was part of one of the most successful Softball programs in California history coaching alongside of Head Coach Doug Eastman. Before working with Coach Eastman, Coach Frizzell worked three years at College of the Redwoods in Eureka California helping lead the softball program to its first trip to the California Community College State Championships.
Session 1: Skills Clinic ............ 10U-12U ... 8:30am-12:00pm
Session 2: Recruiting Clinic ..... 14U-18U ... 12:30pm-4:00pm
Equipment: You will need a glove and proper footwear. A helmet and bat are recommended as well but not mandatory. Group bats and helmets will be provided.
In order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment, space is limited. Once a camp is full, campers will be placed on a waiting list.
Camp check-in takes place 30 minutes prior to the start of your registered camp session.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel, please let us know immediately. It will give us an opportunity to admit someone on the waiting list. Cancellations made before November 10th will be refunded minus a $50 processing fee. Cancellation made on or after November 10th will not be refunded. There will be NO refund issued for changes in camp format due to weather, no-shows, or non-participation due to injury or illness
Inclement Weather Policy: We cannot refund camp registration and/or travel fees due to inclement weather on the day of camp. We have a lightening policy that requires us to vacate the outdoors when a lightening strike has occurred within a 10 mile radius. We are required to wait 30 minutes after each strike. We can assure you we will do our best to transition in the case of inclement weather. We want to see your athlete on the field, but cannot control the weather. Our schedule may lengthen or change due to weather.
Camp Hotel/Dorm Info: This is not an "overnight" camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own accommodations.
Transportation: There will be no airport transportation offered for this event.
