The Hornets Nest has been the home field of the Delaware State University Softball Team since 1993. The Dimensions are 220' Down Lines and 225' Centerfield. The surface if DiamondTex/Turface and it has seating for 300.
 

Amber Jackson’s Softball Camps at Delaware State University

Thank you for your interest in Amber Jackson’s Softball Camps at Delaware State University. Our mission is to provide athletes with elite level softball instruction. Athletes will have the opportunity to learn DSU Softball defensive, offensives, and pitching philosophies and practices from DSU coaching staff and players. Athletes will also learn various drills to help the better understand and develop the fundamentals and mechanics of softball. Our goal is to develop athletes on the field and teach athletes to become the very best version of their selves on and off the field.

 

Camps will provide athletes with access to champion individuals. Instructors include: 3-time NCAA Division 1 All-American and 2007 National Pro Fastpitch Player of the Year, Amber Jackson, Head Softball Coach at Delaware State University; Delaware State University Pitching Coach, and the NCAA Division 1 Delaware State Hornets softball players.

Description

This is an advanced All Skills Prospect Camp for athletes who aspire to play at the collegiate level. This advanced all skills camp will cover the physical and mental skills necessary for playing softball at the collegiate level, including offense, defense, and pitching. Athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and participate in a fast pace workout that simulates a Division I college practice. Also, athletes will learn about the DSU softball program and the recruiting process. Instructors of this camp include current coaches and players at Delaware State University.

 

Note: There will be a 30 min lunch break and Q&A. Please pack a lunch and bring water.

 

Equipment
Each camper must bring his own softball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, batting gloves, helmet, cleats, running shoes or turf shoes and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Please mark name on all items. All pitchers must provide their own catchers.

 

Inclement Weather Policy: All camps will run rain or shine and there is no rain date scheduled. Players must bring appropriate footwear for any indoor activities i.e. sneakers or turf shoes.

 

Amber Jackson's Softball Camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants within the age specifications listed, on a first come first served basis. Any questions regarding camp, please email/or call Coach Jackson.

This advanced pitching camp will cover the physical and mental skills necessary to pitch at the collegiate level, with emphasis on pitching mechanics, pitch break, and pitch location. Athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and participate in a fast pace workout that simulates a Division I college practice. Also, athletes will learn about the DSU softball program and the recruiting process. Instructors of this camp include Assistant Coach Mackenzie Maples and current players at Delaware State University.

 

All pitchers must provide their own catchers.

 

Equipment: Please bring you own catcher and be prepared to be outdoors.
