Softball has eight All Conference selections, Schloredt named Player of the Year for the second straight season

The Sacramento State softball program received eight all-Pacific Coast Softball Conference selections, including a school-record five first teamers. Highlighting the list of Hornet first team selections is senior catcher Jamie Schloredt who received co-PCSC Player of the Year honors, marking the second straight year she has received the award.

Sacramento State players accounted for five of the conference's 11 first team selections. Joining Schloredt on the first team were senior left fielder Izmena Cabrera, senior second baseman Whitney Loomis, sophomore pitcher Megan Schaefer and freshman shortstop Desiree Beltran. Schloredt and Loomis were both unanimous first team selections, and Beltran was named the PCSC Freshman of the Year, becoming the first Hornet to garner the award since the team joined the conference in 2003.

Junior right fielder Jenice Bartee was named to the second team, while senior third baseman Rachel Miles and freshman first baseman Alyssa Nakken were both named honorable mention. The eight all-conference selections were the most in the six-team PCSC, and matched the program record for most all-conference selections in a season (8 in 2007).
