Chris Protesto

Head Coach

 

Chris Protesto joined the Cabrini softball program as an assistant coach in 2019 and was elevated to interim head coach following the 2019 campaign. Protesto brings a wealth of club coaching experience to the Blue and White dugout.

 

Protesto began coaching at the youth level in 2012, winning his club to its first ever district title. Three years later, the team repeated the feat before finishing third in the state. In 2015, Protesto led the Lionville Lightning to Class C level state championship. Two years later, his PA Strikers finished second in the Eastern Nationals in a field of 75 teams.

 

Protesto moved to the college ranks in 2019, helping the Cavaliers build a 20-18 mark, including 5-5 in Atlantic East Conference action and a berth in the conference tournament. Protesto is also the Structural Trades Supervisor in the Cabrini University Facilities Department, where has worked since 2003.

 

 

 

Hilary Tutrani

Assistant Coach

 

Hilary Tutrani begins her 11th season as an assistant coach with the Cabrini softball team in 2019-20. Tutrani joined the Cavaliers following one season as an assistant coach at Albright College in 2009. Prior to coaching with the Lions, she spent one season as a student assistant coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2008.

 

Tutrani earned four varsity letters at IUP, playing 1B and 3B from 2003-07. She thrice earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) accolades and was named to the NCAA Tournament All-Tournament team in 2005. Tutrani was tabbed a PSAC Player of the Week in 2007. IUP notched 91 overall victories with Tutrani in uniform. The Crimson Hawks ranked third in the region during her sophomore season in 2005.

 

Tutrani was a four-year PSAC and IUP Scholar-Athlete. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in health and physical education from IUP in 2008. Tutrani is a Health and Physical Education Teacher for Pottstown Middle School, where she coaches girls soccer and basketball. In December 2012, the Royersford, PA native completed her master’s degree in Sports Management and Athletics with a certificate in Public Administration at West Chester University.
