Bulldog Softball Camps at Yale

Below you’ll find our school’s Division I college softball camps at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Our goal is to provide you with a first-class collegiate like experience, while helping you bring your game to the next level – one swing at a time.

We pride ourselves on running the lowest coach to player ratio in the region. Throughout the year we host specialized clinics, day camps, prospect showcases and more. If you don’t see a date that works for you at this time please check back as we add new sessions often.

Our softball camps and showcases are a great opportunity to take your game to the next level at one of the world’s most renowned universities. Description

Registration for our Yale Softball Camp is now open.  Great opportunity to receive personalized instruction from college coaches in a small group setting.  Sign-up now to secure your spot!

 

Hitting Session:  Yale Head Coach Jen Goodwin will oversee the Hitting Session. We will review the fundamentals of hitting, plus some advanced drills we use to improve bat speed, power and consistency. We will also cover bunting and slapping for those interested.

 

Catching:  Led by University of New Haven Coach Jen Starek, catchers will work on throwing, framing, and blocking, in addition to other fundamentals of catching.

 

Infield:  Led by Yale Head Coach Jen Goodwin, infielders will work on throwing, fielding, fundamental defensive drills, as well as bunt defense.

 

Outfield:  Led by Wesleyan Coach Jen Lane, outfielders will work on throwing, fielding, and positioning, in addition to other fundamentals of outfield work.

 

Pitchers:  Led by Yale Associate Head Coach Barbara Reinalda, pitchers will work on mechanics, various pitch spins, as well as drills to improve your overall pitching game.

 

Who: Girls: 2020-2024 Graduates only. The Bulldog Softball Camps are open to any and all entrants who meet the gender and age limits.

 
Defense or Pitching Only: $100.00 **NOTE: You CANNOT register for BOTH Pitching & Defense**

Hitting Only: $100.00

Both Sessions: $195.00

 

Times

09:30am-10:00am ... Registration (Indoor Bubble)

10:00am-12:00pm ... Pitching (Indoor Bubble)

10:00am-12:00pm ... Defense (Indoor Bubble)

12:30pm-02:30pm ... Hitting and Baserunning (Field House)

 

What to bring: Each player must bring her own softball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, helmet, turfs or tennis shoes and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Note: Pitchers must bring their own catchers.

 

The NCAA prohibits free/reduced admission for prospect-aged individuals. Yale University Softball Camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender.

 

Check-in

Please check in 30 minutes prior to the start of the first session each day, as we will start promptly on both days of camp.

Accommodations

This is not an overnight camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations. (see FAQ's for suggestions)

 

Miscellaneous Information

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp

Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you signed up for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

Description

The camp is geared to individual skill development instructed and supervised by the Yale University Softball staff. We rent facilities from Yale the camp is neither sponsored or controlled by the University. The major camp objective is to provide each participant with a great learning experience in the fundamentals of the game of softball. The campers are divided into age groups & the instructional sessions are broken into offense (hitting and baserunning), defense (specific position work), pitching, and team play.

 

Camp Staff: We are pleased to announce that the following schools will be represented on our camp staff this June:

From I-95:
Take Eastbound Exit 44 or Westbound Exit 45 to Route 10 and follow Yale Bowl signs. Or, take Exit 47 (Downtown) and follow Route 34 to the Yale Fields.

 
From Downtown New Haven:
Go north on Chapel Street, then turn left on Derby Avenue (Route34) to the fields. From I-91: Take Exit 1 (Downtown) and follow Route 34 to the Yale Fields.
