Lisa Dodd was named the head coach of Santa Clara softball on June 27th.
Dodd, who played and coached in the Pac-12 Conference, spent the last five years at the helm of UNLV where she amassed 121 wins, with a season-high of 26 coming in 2014.
Under her tutelage, the Rebels had nine All-Mountain West First Team selections, including the 2014 MW Player of the Year Garie Blando. The Rebels also had six NFCA All-West Region members in Dodd’s five-year tenure.
Her teams exceled in the classroom with four Rebels named MW Scholar-Athletes, including a repeat winner in Emily Haslinger, for maintaining a 3.5 or greater GPA during the year. She had a minimum of seven players each year on the Spring Academic All-MW.
Prior to taking over the Rebels, Dodd spent three seasons (2010-12) at Oregon as an assistant to Mike White. She helped Oregon return to national prominence with a combined record of 123-55 and three consecutive trips to the postseason. The Ducks reached the NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals all three seasons before a trip to the 2012 Women’s College World Series and a program-best No. 5 final ranking in both polls.
