Clint Myers' Winning Road To Auburn Softball
New Auburn softball coach Clint Myers was in town to do the things you do when you get a new job. You know, paperwork, shaking hands, meeting the right people, talking with his new players, checking out the athletic facilities. Oh, and he snuck in the ballpark one night.
Is it mandatory that we see a doctor prior to attending camp?
Signed Medical Clearance form is required to be submitted prior to attending camp. You will receive this form via email once you are registered for camp.
Do you accept walk-ups at registration?
No. Our camps focus on instruction and learning, so we need to have the exact number of campers well ahead of camp to ensure a very low camper to staff ratio, which is something that is very important to us and separates us from other camps.
What will happen if there is rain?
All events will occur RAIN or SHINE. Fortunately we have access to many of the athletic facilities at Auburn.
What is the best airport to fly into and how can I get to Auburn from it?
The nearest major airport is Atlanta which is 100 miles from Auburn. From there you can either rent a car, or take the shuttle service Groome Transportation to Auburn. The number for Groome Transportation is (334) 821 - 3399.
What do we need to bring?
Campers should bring the following items: glove, cleats, tennis or turf shoes, helmet, bat and a water bottle. If possible, catchers should bring their catching gear. Clothing should match the weather conditions and campers should be prepared for any kind of weather. Please label all of your items!
Will Coach Myers be at the camp?
Yes! Coach Myers leads all of our softball camps and is very involved in providing instruction to campers.
How do I get a copy of the required paperwork?
The required paperwork (medical clearance and copy of the front and back of your medical insurance card) will be sent directly to you to the e-mail address you provide as part of your confirmation e-mail. You may also access this information on the camp website with in each camp listing. Please note, you may use a physical or doctor's report dated within a year of camp so long as it contains the doctor's signature.
Can my child participate without the medical clearance?
No. It is Auburn University's policy that ALL campers turn in completed paperwork before they will be allowed to participate in any camp activities.
Do you recommend any specific hotel for the camps?

Do I have to sign up for a primary position? What about a secondary position?
Yes! We need to you sign up for a primary position because we divide our camp groups by age and position. If you have a secondary position, we would also like to know that but it is NOT required.
What if I cannot register on line?
If for some reason you cannot register for camp on line, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will work with you.
Do you have overnight camps?
No. Our camps are all commuter camps only.
Do you provide meals?
No. We provide coolers of water for you to refill your labeled water bottle that you bring with you to camp. You can bring your own snacks.
How do you divide the campers into smaller groups?
In our camps we divide the campers into groups by age and position. Campers will be with other players of similar age and abilities.
Are parents invited to stay for the camp?
Yes, we highly encourage all parents/guardians to stay and watch all of the instruction given during our camps. We allow parents/guardians to get as close as possible to hear and see all instruction in the cages and on the field.
